Interior & Exterior Painting in DFW & North Texas

Define the preparation, repairs, products, colors and finishes for your home or business—with a written scope and paint schedule before application.

Defined Before We Paint

Start With the Surface, Condition and Scope

Longhorn Construction Co. provides Interior and Exterior Painting for homes and commercial properties. Based in Aubrey, Texas, we serve DFW and North Texas, work throughout Texas and have nationwide project capability.

We define what gets prepared, what gets repaired, what gets painted, and which product, color and finish goes where. Our process starts with inspecting the surfaces and defining the areas, then identifying preparation and repairs before selecting products, colors and finishes.

Those decisions become the written scope and project paint schedule. Longhorn coordinates the work and reviews completion against the agreed scope. We are a full-service general contractor, BBB A+ Rated and available 24/7. Learn about Longhorn Construction.

What We Paint

Interior and Exterior Painting

Choose the areas your project needs. Available services are not automatically included in every painting scope.

Interior Areas

Walls, ceilings, accent areas, trim, baseboards, doors, closets, shelving and custom areas can receive different products, colors and finishes.

Cabinets and built-ins are available as specifically scoped work, with preparation and coating selections appropriate to the surface.

Exterior Areas

Scope may include the main field/body, fascia, trim, soffit, front and rear doors, garage doors, shutters, columns, porch/patio areas, railings, dormers/gables, accents and custom areas.

Recommendations depend on the substrate, existing coating, condition, preparation, exposure, weather and selected product/system.

Surface-Specific Work

Preparation, Painting and Repairs

  • Preparation makes the surface ready. Depending on the scope, this may include cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, caulking, masking, protection and spot or full priming.
  • Repair corrects damaged material. Drywall, texture, trim, fascia, siding/substrate, carpentry and other damaged surfaces may require separately scoped repairs.
  • Painting applies the selected coating. The specified system goes onto the appropriately prepared or repaired surface.

A wall may need cleaning, sanding and minor patching as preparation; a damaged section of drywall may need repair. The written scope determines inclusion—minor patches are not automatically separate charges, and ordinary painting does not include unlimited repair work.

Paint does not correct an underlying moisture or substrate problem. Peeling, chalking, failed caulk or damaged material calls for condition-based evaluation, not a fixed repaint interval.

See fascia and related soffit work or siding repair and replacement when those components need attention. Broader water damage, drywall, insulation, trim, flooring, demolition or multi-trade repair belongs in an appropriate Restoration scope.

Masonry and Exterior Wood

Longhorn paints/coats appropriate brick, stucco, concrete/block and other suitable masonry. Not all masonry should be painted or simply recoated. Existing condition/coating, moisture, preparation, exposure and manufacturer/product requirements determine the recommended system and written scope.

Fence staining, deck staining and exterior wood finishing can also be scoped. For fence-specific construction and finishing, see Longhorn Fencing services.

More Than a Color Choice

Choose Products, Colors and Finishes by Area

Physical Color Confirmation and Documented Selections

Longhorn uses physical fan decks and paint samples for customer color selection and confirmation. Customers can also select and document colors from applicable manufacturer/supplier color libraries.

Choose by room, area or component: walls, ceilings, trim, doors, accents and exterior body colors can differ. Screen-displayed colors are representative, not guaranteed exact physical matches. Confirm the final selection using the applicable fan deck, sample/chip, manufacturer information and approved project selection.

Products and Manufacturer Color Libraries

Supported selections include Sherwin-Williams, Benjamin Moore, PPG/Pittsburgh and Behr, with customer-supplied/custom selections where applicable. These are product/color options, not claims of manufacturer certification, exclusive partnership, preferred-contractor status or universal warranty authorization.

Not every color is available in every product, and not every product/color combination is appropriate for every substrate. The digital library does not replace final customer confirmation.

Finish / Sheen Is a Separate Decision

Interior finish terminology includes Flat, Matte, Eggshell, Satin, Semi-Gloss and Gloss. Selection depends on the surface, use, appearance, cleanability, selected product, customer preference and written specification—not a universal rule for each room.

Primer and Coating Requirements

No universal primer or two-coat rule applies to every project. Requirements depend on the substrate, existing coating and color, new color, repairs, staining/bleed-through, selected product/system and manufacturer requirements. The written scope identifies the applicable primer and coating work without promising guaranteed coverage.

Clear Written Confirmation

Your Written Scope and Paint Schedule

The customer project paint schedule is a written reference for what goes where before application. For each applicable room, area or surface, it can identify manufacturer/product, color and color identification, finish/sheen and notes/specifications.

That can mean different selections for walls, ceilings, trim, doors, accents or scoped cabinets/built-ins—or for the exterior body, fascia/trim/soffit, doors, garage doors, shutters, columns and other selected components.

  • Work to be performed: areas/surfaces, preparation, repairs and coating application.
  • Selections and specifications: product, color, finish and applicable primer/coat requirements.
  • Project boundaries: protection/masking, exclusions, options and separately authorized additional work.
  • Agreed pricing: the written Longhorn Proposal establishes actual project pricing.

Homes and Businesses

Residential and Commercial Project Coordination

For an occupied home, agree on access, protection, furniture-moving responsibilities and work sequencing before work begins. These responsibilities follow the written scope rather than an automatic furniture-moving inclusion.

Commercial Painting may require access planning, occupied-space protection, phasing, scheduling and coordination with business operations. Larger scopes still need clear product, color and finish selections. Planning helps manage disruption; it is not a promise of zero disruption.

Longhorn uses experienced independent subcontractor crews and manages scope, quality expectations, coordination and customer communication.

Project-Specific Guidance

Painting Price and Project Timing

  • Areas and quantities: surfaces, dimensions, number of areas and project complexity.
  • Condition and preparation: cleaning, surface preparation, repairs and existing coatings.
  • Selections: products, colors, finishes and applicable coating requirements.
  • Working conditions: height/access, masking/protection, Interior/Exterior conditions and occupied-property requirements.

The written Proposal establishes the actual price. For payment planning, review Longhorn financing information.

Many standard single-family Exterior Painting projects can be completed in approximately 3–5 days. This is typical guidance, not a guaranteed completion time. Size, number of areas/colors, preparation, repairs, selected products, drying/recoat requirements, weather, access and complexity affect the schedule.

That range does not automatically apply to Interior, Commercial, masonry or extensive repair/restoration projects. Exterior work must accommodate conditions appropriate to the selected product.

Written Terms Control

Workmanship and Manufacturer Coverage

Longhorn Painting generally carries a 1-year workmanship warranty beginning at Job Completion unless the written agreement provides otherwise. The agreement controls coverage for Longhorn’s contracted workmanship and applicable limitations.

Any manufacturer product coverage is separate and subject to its own terms. Moisture/substrate failure, movement, neglect, damage and later work by others are distinct from defects caused by Longhorn’s workmanship and remain subject to the written terms. A coating does not turn an underlying problem into a workmanship defect simply because it becomes visible.

For damage-related work, Longhorn documents observed construction conditions and prepares its proposed construction scope. The insurer determines coverage under the policy. See Restoration services for broader repairs.
